A Carer is someone who provides help and support to a relative, friend or neighbour who cannot manage without this help due to their age, disability or health needs
Carers Contact Centre provides Carers with information, advice, and much more to support them in their caring role.
Carers Week will take place from 14-20 June 2010. Thousands of events and activities take place throughout the UK to highlight and celebrate the contribution that carers make.
The theme this year is 'A life of my own', highlighting the incredible stories of carers; those who can describe how they have managed to create a life of their own, and those who feel that they are unable to.
There are a number of events taking place in Telford & Wrekin during the week. The specific one for Newport is listed below:

An opportunity for all carers to come along and chat to support workers from the Carers Contact Centre,
find out about all that the library can offer you and relax over a cup of coffee.
